Fierce OOTD: Fashion Jewelry Makes All the Difference

Florida really got the summer season memo.  Besides the temps staying in the mid to upper 80’s, the rain has been absolutely crazy!  We’ve had major downpours all week and today was no different.  So I had to go old school Fierce  – move the playpen and bouncer out of the way and take my outfit pictures indoors.

Denim Skirt

{Neon Green Shirt: Beals; Denim Skorts; Kohls}

Even though I didn’t have plans to go playing out in the rain, I still put an outfit together nonetheless.  I’m still struggling with revamping my wardrobe to fit my lifestyle so these next few outfit posts are all about stretching my fashion creativity.  I first started with clothes that really haven’t made the blog yet and I immediately thought of these skorts (yes skorts!)  The last time I wore this in an outfit post was almost three years ago and I really don’t know why.  I wear them all the time, especially during the summer.  Their comfortable, they’re denim and don’t have to worry about flashing anybody.  You also can’t tell their skorts from the back either!

Fashion Accessories

{Blue Flower Earrings: Old; Blue and Silver Necklace: Gift; Silver link bracelets; Gifts from Hubby}

The neon green shirt was a random buy I made a month or so ago.  I was out shopping for a swimsuit for the princess.  The color immediately caught my eye on the rack and when I pulled it out I liked it even more!  The material breathes, which is essential in the hotter months and the V neckline  work great with “the girls”.

Blue Wedges

{Blue and Green Wedges; Old Navy}

Further scanning my closet I spotted these  wedges, which I don’t wear often enough!  I bought them last year when I was looking for cute, comfy shoes to wear while I was pregnant. They way they strap up the ankle gives these wedges it’s own flavor while not cutting off my circulation.  It picks up the neon green color and the blue gave me the inspiration for my fashion jewelry.   You know I can’t resist big, in-your-face earrings and I kept the blue party going with the long necklace.  These accessories definitely brought this outfit up a notch and I can’t wait to wear this combo out!

Have you ever been stuck in a fashion rut?  How did you get out of it?

Fierce OOTD: Love Me Some Denim

Denim overall is one of my fashion obsessions.  I can never have enough of them, always in the same dark wash with a slim fit with enough wiggle room.  Whenever I go shopping for jeans, I leave with at least two pairs and when the weather gets a little nippy, this jacket comes out of the closet.

Old Navy Jeans

{Denim Jacket: Sears; Denim Jeans: Old Navy; Black Striped Shirt:  GAP; Black Sneakers:  Reebok}

I took advantage of the cool weather to also wear this shirt from the GAP.  It saved my life during my pregnancy with it’s stretch material while being cute with it’s thin stripes and v-neckline.  I’ve paired it with everything from dress trousers for the office to jeans for a cute casual look like I did here. With long sleeves it’s perfect for the 60 degree days we occasionally have out here without melting in the sun.  I also left the heels at home and broke out my Reeboks.  I’ve been wearing them a lot lately, especially when I’m toting the princess around!

{Multi-colored scarf:  Beals; Big Circle Earrings: Forever 21}

For a pop of color (you know how I feel about color!) I took this scarf that I normally wear in my hair and wore it as an infinity scarf.  I don’t know why I never thought to wear it like this before!  Granted, it didn’t keep my neck warm from the chilly wind that was blowing out there but it’s all good.  I’ll take one for the love of fashion! :)

How do you wear denim?

Fierce OOTD: Summer Whites Give Me Wings

White Blouse

The summer seems to be flying by, with the days just getting hotter and more rainy.  This past weekend was almost a complete wash out but the rain stayed away just long enough on Saturday for me to run errands, head out to do a review, and snap a few pictures while the sun is down. Taking outfit pictures is a challenge in 90 degree weather!

Old Navy Jeans

{White Blouse: Jessica London; Dark Jeans: Old Navy; Flat Sandals: Payless}

I’ve been waiting for the right time to wear this white blouse that I stole borrowed from my aunt.  Not only does it give me enough room for my expanding belly, it fits my personal style to a T – a classic piece with an unexpected twist.  Plus, you can’t help but want to fly away with the scalloped sleeves with subtle embroidery details.  I’ve never seen a shirt like this and it only makes me love it even more!

Plus size fashion

Thank goodness I kept these jeans.  I bought them a while back but were too big for me and never got around to taking them back.  Now do they ever come in handy!  They are now the only jeans I can fit into comfortably and I saved myself from having to buy pregnancy ones.  As for shoes, I wasn’t so lucky.  I totally forgot what my ankles looked like and by the end of the day, they look like swollen balloons.  So most of my shoe collection is out of the question.  Thank goodness this is only temporary! :)

Fierce OOTD: Ready for the Summer

Blue Maxi Dress

After a few rainy, windy, and dreary weekends, we finally caught a break down here with a beautiful, sunny weekend.  The temps were way into the 80’s and not a cloud in the sky.  Forget Spring, it’s already Summer down here and I’m pretty pysched!  It’s always been my favorite time of the year (even though the heat can be unbearable sometimes!).  It’s the time for those cookouts, family beach trips, and pool parties, which is what I went to last Sunday.  Not only did I get to wear the newest maxi dress to my collection, it also gave me an excuse to get a new bathing suit that will accommodate this baby belly. :)

While shopping for a dress for a baby shower I went to a few weeks back, I found this blue maxi dress on the Clearance rack at Target.  I just saw it online the day before and loved it but sadly it was only sold online.  Looks like somebody who wore the exact size I needed returned it to the store just in time for me to snatch it up.  The best part?  It was only $7!!  Even the cashier couldn’t believe it!  It’s super comfortable and I’m pretty sure I can wear it after the baby is here.

A week or two later I scooped up these shoes at Old Navy.  I love the fact that it gives me the height I’m missing from my heels while being comfortable at the same time.  Add in my newest bauble bracelet and my summer hat and your girl was ready to go!

I had such a blast lounging by the pool with a cup of Iced Tea in hand, a plate full of good food, and surrounded by great conversation.  I couldn’t ask for a better Sunday!

Fierce Fashion: Maxi Dresses Anyone?

What has become a must have for me as the weather gets warmer are maxi dresses (for obvious reasons!)  and that’s all I’ve had my eye on lately. The more flow and color they have the better and you can’t beat the comfort factor either!  I also love the fact that can be dressed up with heels and fierce jewelry or dressed down with some cute flats.  This year is all about versatility for me as well as looking cute and not melting!
