Hope you all are having an awesome weekend! For me its the official kick off of my birthday week and to celebrate I’m taking the entire week off to enjoy my last days in my twenties! That means plenty of good food, great shopping, enjoying some awesome Fashion Week events going on this week, like IFBCon (via Livestream) and Fashion Night Out on Thursday, and finally my b-day on Friday.
I will have two awesome bloggers that will be guest posting for me this week and I am super excited about that. So make sure you stick around to see Vonnie from Socialite Dreams and Michelle from Radiant Brown Beauty will be talking about this week!
In the meantime, have an awesome day and I’ll catch you ladies next week!
Since I last told you ladies about the Avon Voices Contest, the 23 finalists were flown to Hollywood, California to record their final performance videos. Not only did they get a fab makeover (still jealous!), professional photo shoots as well as the opportunity to have their own personal coaching sessions with two of the celebrity judges, David Pack, a Grammy award-winning singer/composer and music producer, and Maia, a Columbian music star. The video below gives you the complete Hollywood scoop! (Aren’t those makeovers amazing?!)
Normally with singing contests we get little snippets here and there of the contestants practicing and then it’s on to the final performance. Avon was awesome enough to LiveStream some of the one on one sessions so we could get a unique look behind the scenes. I checked them out myself and not only did I get to learn a little more about the finalists but the judges as well! I thought they were very warm, welcoming and extremely encouraging! Now it wasn’t the Paula Abdul niceness that became a little annoying on American Idol but rather the sandwich method of giving advice (start off with compliments, then constructive criticism followed by more encouraging compliments). They made the finalists feel good while giving them good, sound advice. I’m not a singer by any means, but I learned a lot from their advice. David Pack equated singing with acting in the sense that a singer has to evoke emotion on cue, which looks really hard to do! Maia took some contestants through the lyrics to make sure their words were clear and were full of the right emotion while they sang. She even showed off her amazing singing voice (while rocking these fabulous shoes! You have to check them out) You could see that the finalists were listening, some showing improvement rather quickly. With pro advice in hand, they recorded their videos in front of a live audience.
Voting is officially on so check them outtheir videos and cast your vote! You only have until August 26 (may seem like a long way off, but you know how time can sneak up on you!)
Have you checked out the livestreams? What did you think of the finalists and their coaches? I wanna know who your favorites are!
