Trendy Office Wear You Need In Your Life

Over the past few weeks, my freelancing life has taken me out of my home office (and stretchy pants) and into a creative, office environment. The awesome part is that I get to do the writing I love to do but I have to admit was a bit of an adjustment. Besides having to leave the house everyday, my work wardrobe has drastically changed. The stuffy trousers and blazers I used to wear before just doesn’t have a place in my work life anymore. And I would get some strange looks if I rolled up in shorts and a tee.

So I had to do a major wardrobe overhaul and get some trendy, yet office appropriate clothes into my life. This fashion project is off to a fantastic start but the shopping itch is in full effect around here!

Just look at the fashion awesomeness I found!

Modcloth Polyvore Outfit Challenge: The Following Dreams Sweater

When it comes to writing for your blog, I’m always talking about creating the types of content you love doing and one thing I absolutely love doing on here is creating outfits.  Let’s face it, trying to take outfit pictures with a toddler running around is challenging to do on a daily basis. Creating outfits using Photoshop or free platforms like Polyvore are the next best thing for me!  So it was only natural  when Modcloth reached out to me about their weekly Polyvore Outfit Challenges, I couldn’t pass up the chance to participate.  I adore their clothes and use them in a lot of my fashion posts (remember this cardigan?).   They have so many clothes and accessories to choose from with a vintage vibe that you don’t see everywhere else.

So how does this challenge work?  Every week they send out a piece of clothing to  create an outfit from with using the clothes and accessories from their site.  The winner get’s featured on their Polyvore page along with the rest of their fun and stylish sets.

This week’s item was the Following Dreams Sweater, a cute white and blue top combining stripes and polka dots in a fun and stylish way.   I’m a sucker for an awesome pair of flare jeans and you know I couldn’t resist a bold, pop of color, adding in a bold red scarf and lipstick.  I finished the look off with a pair of comfy looking, vintage pair of low flats and fun earrings.

What do you ladies think?  What would you wear with this sweater?

Fierce Fashion: Rocking Camouflage

If you talked to me a few months ago you wouldn’t see anything camouflage related associated with me.  It was so not my thing! Now, thanks to Pinterest, I’m changing my mind.  Instead of associating it t with hunting out in the country, I see it as a very fashionable print – if worn the right way.  How so?  Keep it to one piece of clothing – a skinny pant, an oversize jacket, or a fitted cap for those super casual days.  The rest of your outfit should be very low key, like neutral colors or a subtle pop of color in your accessories.  Camo walks a thin line between fashionable and ultra tacky so don’t overdo it!

Here are some fashion bloggers who know how to rock it right!

Ten Cardigans for Fall

One of my staple pieces for the Fall are cardigans.  They’re so easy to wear, with the ability to throw it on over a cami, tank, or dress for an immediate style upgrade.  They’re  great season transitioners, letting you get more wear out of your warm weather clothes.  Lately, I’ve loved the modern spin on cardigan.  From super long dusters to draped necklines, there are so many styles to choose from.  While this one and this one are my all time favs, I’m always keeping an eye on out for new ones to add to my collection.  These 10 that I’ve rounded up for Fall not only work with great shapes and different lengths, they readily embrace the hottest Fall trends.
