One of the foundations I always love keeping up with is the Avon Foundation. I totally enjoy working with them for International Women’s Day as well as help support their campaigns to end Violence Against Women and spread the word on Breast Cancer Awareness. I’m also a fan of their spokesperson, Reese Witherspoon, who is always doing big things with Avon! Earlier this month, she was in Atlanta to kick off the Believe Global Tour, with the goal to continue empowering women all over the world. Though I couldn’t personally attend, Reese was awesome enough to tape a video response to my question:

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month Beauty and Fashion Style
As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and many companies are showing their support and donating to the cause in awesome ways. Even as I watched football (yes I love football!) it’s great to see the players wearing pink and black gloves and towels as they take to the field. Beauty and fashion companies are no different. Because they are soo many participating in the fight to end Breast Cancer, it made sense for me to give you ladies a round of up for just some of the companies doing their part!
Breast cancer affects men just as much as women and Lab series feels that everyone should show their support. That’s why they are incasing their Daily Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 15 for men in a special sleeve with the BCA Pink Ribbon. Not only will this Lab Series for Men still keep giving men same all-day hydration that a man’s skin needs with this lotion, they are also donating $10,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
American Eagle Outfitters
For the entire month of October, aeri, the lingerie line by American Eagle Outiffiters will be donating a portion of their proceeds for all of their bra sales to Bright Pink. a national non-profit organization that provides education and support to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. You can purchase these bright pink bras at www.aerie.com.
Estee Lauder
Part of fighting this disease is awareness and what better way to do that than to use the social media platforms you use every day! That’s why Estee Lauder is inviting everyone to visit their Facebook page and make their Breast Cancer Awareness pledge. Once you have, please share with all your friends as well as see what others have pledged to do this month. I’ve already pledged to wear a pink ribbon this month so make sure you make your pledge known to the world!
Endlessbeauty.com
This beauty website who takes a very healthy approach to beauty is celebrating BCA month by discussing the social, emotional, and economical effects of breast cancer on their blog. Their stories will talke about topics such as the state of Breast Cancer Research, early detection and lifestyle changes that are thought to lower the risk of breast cancer.
Like I said, this is just a snippet of the many companies supporting BCA this month. Even if you don’t participate in any of these, just make sure you support this cause in any way you can!

Supporting Women in Need is a Beautiful Thing: The Latest at the Avon Foundation
If you followed my coverage for International Women’s Day last March, you already know how passionate I am in supporting our fellow ladies in need and I’m happy to say that Avon continues to do just that! Here’s what the peeps at the Avon Foundation for Women have been up to!
Breast Cancer awareness just isn’t for October. It’s something that should be discussed and supported all year round! Starting this April, this beauty company is launching Avon Walks for Breast Cancer will where it wants to get the support of everyone for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer. This two day, 39-mile walk is taking place all over the country to help raise money for this cause that affects both men and women! To help get my divas involved, Avon has offered my readers on Fierce and Yahoo!Shine a special registration fee of $45 (it’s normally $65) from now until April 14th. All you have to do is enter the promo code walk3 at avonwalk.org. Doesn’t leave much time ladies so check out the dates and cities where you can participate! For more info on the event and activities, visit avonwalk.org!
The Avon Empowerment Product Line
In the spirit of spreading awareness and empowering women in an effort to stop the spread of violence against women, Avon’s embassador Reese Witherspoon has launched the Empowerment line. This collection includes great accessories and a new Empowerment T-shirt. Prices range from $3 to $15 and 100% of the net proceeds will go the Avon Empowerment Fund, whose goal is to erradicate violence against women all over the world. You can look great and support a great cause at the same time! Shop here to do your part.
In these photos, I’m rocking the Empowerment T-shirt ($15), Unisex Bracelet ($3), Empowerment Bracelet ($3), and the Empowerment Necklace ($5).

BCA Month Maybe Over but The Ritz is Still Thinking Pink!

I was all about the pink last month where we all took on the challenge to spread the word and educate ourselves as well as others about Breast Cancer. I know the statistic that still sticks with me is that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. With a figure like that, we definitely have to keep up our support for those affected way after October is over. That’s why I was glad to hear that The Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach was supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
In honor of the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure event taking place on January 30, 2010, The Ritz is offering a “Sweet Dreams for the Cure Package” for the month of January. This room package, along with overnight accommodations, includes: two pink bath robes, two pairs of fluffy pink socks, two pink, 300-count “Dream for the Cure” pillowcases, monogrammed with guests’ initials, and a Sole Foot Delight treatment with pedicure from the resort’s Eau Spa. 5% of all proceeds will go to support the breast cancer walk event.
Now ladies I admit that the price per night may prove to be steep for many of us (starts at $569 a night based on double occupancy). However, for those of us who can afford it, I think it’s a great way to have a great night’s stay and support a great cause at the same time!
