Fierce OOTD: Fashion Jewelry Makes All the Difference

Florida really got the summer season memo.  Besides the temps staying in the mid to upper 80′s, the rain has been absolutely crazy!  We’ve had major downpours all week and today was no different.  So I had to go old school Fierce  - move the playpen and bouncer out of the way and take my outfit pictures indoors.

Denim Skirt

{Neon Green Shirt: Beals; Denim Skorts; Kohls}

Even though I didn’t have plans to go playing out in the rain, I still put an outfit together nonetheless.  I’m still struggling with revamping my wardrobe to fit my lifestyle so these next few outfit posts are all about stretching my fashion creativity.  I first started with clothes that really haven’t made the blog yet and I immediately thought of these skorts (yes skorts!)  The last time I wore this in an outfit post was almost three years ago and I really don’t know why.  I wear them all the time, especially during the summer.  Their comfortable, they’re denim and don’t have to worry about flashing anybody.  You also can’t tell their skorts from the back either!

Fashion Accessories

{Blue Flower Earrings: Old; Blue and Silver Necklace: Gift; Silver link bracelets; Gifts from Hubby}

The neon green shirt was a random buy I made a month or so ago.  I was out shopping for a swimsuit for the princess.  The color immediately caught my eye on the rack and when I pulled it out I liked it even more!  The material breathes, which is essential in the hotter months and the V neckline  work great with “the girls”.

Blue Wedges

{Blue and Green Wedges; Old Navy}

Further scanning my closet I spotted these  wedges, which I don’t wear often enough!  I bought them last year when I was looking for cute, comfy shoes to wear while I was pregnant. They way they strap up the ankle gives these wedges it’s own flavor while not cutting off my circulation.  It picks up the neon green color and the blue gave me the inspiration for my fashion jewelry.   You know I can’t resist big, in-your-face earrings and I kept the blue party going with the long necklace.  These accessories definitely brought this outfit up a notch and I can’t wait to wear this combo out!

Have you ever been stuck in a fashion rut?  How did you get out of it?

One Maxi Three Different Ways

One thing I always keep in mind when I’m shopping for clothes is versatility.  Until I win the lotto, I have to make the most of my wardrobe and buy those things that I can style many different ways.  That definitely explains the abundance of jeans, blazers, and neutral colored tees I have in my closet but I’m setting my fashion sights beyond that.  Dresses, maxis in particular,  are still on my shopping radar, especially with the temps getting warmer.  Combine that with my love of the black and white trend, I’m in styling heaven! I found this nice, fitted one from Therapy (I love discovering new brands!) and created three different looks.  Let me know what you ladies think!

How to Make your Weekend Wear Cute and Casual

Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you but it’s been a crazy week for me!  I’ve been super busy with work while caring for an increasingly active baby all on a few hours of sleep every night. But the weekend is here and while I enjoy some down time I want to look cute without the fuss.  Working at home now, cute and casual wear is a must and I don’t want to spend too much time in the closet.  There are three easy ways to take that old T-shirt and Jeans to the next fashionable level.

Layers

I live for my blazers and cardigans!  They can easily take a tank top or T-shirt into an awesome weekend outfit.  Skip over the office ready pieces and go for those that a more casual like oversized cardigans with a belt tie or a blazer where you can roll up the sleeves.

Accessories

Oversized scarves, statement necklaces, nude wedges, big hoop earrings – I love it all and it’s so easy to throw on.  In the summer I live in tank tops (Old Navy loves me!) and when I have a party to go all I have to do is throw on some earrings or make an infinity scarf out of the many I have in my closet.  Oversized sunnies count too, both over my eyes and as headband once inside.

Color and Prints

On those days when I’m really pressed for time, I just want to throw something on and go.  So I shop for clothes like colorblocked shirts or keep my eye on chevron striped maxis.  It’s easy, cute and requires little thought!

How to you look cute on the weekends?

Fierce Fashion: Fabulous Flats

I knew this day was coming.

It pains me to even think it.  But it’s true.

It’s time to pack away (and look away!) from my favorite stilettos and platform pumps and invest in some flats.

I thought after having the baby my elephant feet would return to normal, my center of gravity won’t be off wack, and I can fit into my shoes.  Well my feet aren’t swollen but wider, my center of gravity is kinda off (carrying a baby will do that) and the only shoes that really fit are my sneakers and flip flops. So it’s time for me to break down and find some comfy and cute shoes.  Luckily flats have come a long way and there are tons of stylish ones to choose from.
