The Scandal Collection From The Limited Is Out And It’s Fierce!!

As if this week couldn’t get any better! Fall TV is back, including my favorite TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy,The Black List, and Scandal. My bottle of red wine has been chilling since the jaw-dropping season 3 finale. And then, my fashion prayers were answered when the Scandal fashion collection from The Limited dropped today.

And it’s freaking amazing!

I’ve been drooling over this since the first looks leaked and now that it’s official in stores, this girl right here is saving up her pennies to get my hands on some of these pieces (and praying really hard that XL fits me!)

Trust me I love every single piece but these babies stood out to me the most.

TV has been making a major comeback the past few years giving us plenty of new shows to love. One of them is NBC’s break out hit The Black List. James Spader is an absolute genius (I firmly believe this role was made just for him). I’ve been glued to this show since the pilot and with the season 2 premiering Monday, to say I’m excited is an understatement.

I had to put together my own Fall Fashion Black List, a collection of 8 fashion items that will elude me and my wallet all season. Unfortunately I don’t have Red as a dad (c’mon, we all know he’s Lizzy’s dad!) so I’ll just dream for now.

Dream Day Wedding Style Challenge: City Glam Chic

Wedding Day Style

It’s been over four years since my dream wedding day and honestly there isn’t anything I would change about that day. I had the traditional wedding day I always wanted, complete with a ballroom, ballgown, and tiara to match. That doesn’t mean I don’t think about different ways I could’ve went about my dream day. A part of me wouldn’t have minded going for a more modern feel, where I could really flex my style muscles and contemporary tastes. The Loverly Dream Day Style Challenge was the perfect opportunity to do that.

There were three types of wedding venues to choose from and I immediately went for the City Glam Setting. I will always be a city girl at heart and having a dream day at a historic museum or a swanky rooftop overlooking Manhattan is my kinda party! Crisp white linens, tall glass centerpieces with floating orchids, and a killer view is the perfect setting for the modern wedding style I want.

The Chiffon & Crystal Shirred Gown from Jim Hjelm would be the perfect dress to walk down the aisle. I still get the ball gown effect with the chiffon and crystal cascade skirt with a modern twist aka the one silk organza strap and slim mermaid fit.

I have a thing for birdcage veils and the nostalgic vibe it brings to a wedding dress. But I didn’t want just any birdcage veil – it needed to have something extra. The Chenille Dot Mini Hat has just enough veil with chenille dots and mini hat that gives me the fashionable boost my outfit needs without taking away from the dress. For special occasions I always wear my hair up and out of my face so the veil would go great with an updo.

As for the accessories, I would take the “Something Blue” concept to a whole other level. Blue Sapphire and Diamond Stud Earrings and Vintage Pendant from Fifth and Bond are the pops of color I need in any outfit (and it’s also my birthstone!).  I also can’t resist showing off little peeps of color with the Milk and Honey I Do Pumps as I walk down the aisle.

What’s your dream day style? Head over to Loverly and let me know what your dream destination and dress would be!

Aztec Print Pants Styled 3 Ways

While out at the mall the other day, I saw printed pants everywhere. My first thought, “I am too old to be rocking those pants” especially since they were mostly leggings. I gave up on leggings a long time ago and printed pants, how could I pull those off?

The trick is to find a print and a pant’s style you’re comfortable with. They are plenty of style options to choose from–palazzo pants to flare hems to slim fits. As for prints, you don’t need to go as big and bold as the leggings in stores like Forever 21. Going for a black and white tribal print is easier to style for us printed pants newbies.

That’s why I picked these Morgan Skinny Fit Aztec Pants from House of Fraser. They have the fit of a skinny jean, a tribal print that is on trend, and neutral colors that are easy to play with.

Just take a look!

Charlotte Russe Pink Refuge High Waisted Shorts Styled 3 Ways

Shorts are the little black dresses of summer – you can never have too many. While denim and khaki are standard staples, adding some bright colors to the mix can liven up your style life.

That’s what drew me to the Refuge “Hi-Rise Shortie” High Waisted Shorts from Charlotte Russe. Who can resist the neon pop of pink in their summer wardrobe? Add in a high waist for my girls who’ve passed the low rise stage in life and versatility that can’t be denied.

Look, let me show you!
