Dressing for the Fourth of July

The fourth of July has to be one of my favorite holidays.  It’s a great reason to have a BBQ, getting together with friends and eating  I get e of my favorite foods like burgers, ribs, and my mom’s potato salad.  She makes awesome potato salad! Firework shows are always fun  whether they’re high in the sky or lit up in a friend’s driveway. It’s also the day when I first met my husband 9 years ago so it’s a semi-anniversary day for us too.  This year is especially cool because it’s my daughter’s first one so we’re going to show her how it’s done, rib bone and all!

When it comes to dressing for the occasion,  I go for the three C’s – cute, comfortable, and cool.   A nice pair of shorts and a tank are definitely what comes to mind especially if I’m hanging out with friends outside by the grill or laying on the grass to watch fireworks.  Flat sandals are made for backyard functions (stilettos and grass?  Not so much) and a tote bag keeps all of my beauty babies I need to stay looking good all day.  To amp of the cuteness factor – jewelry!  Statement necklaces dress up any tank while stud earrings  make it okay to wear that hair up and out of your face.
