I cannot believe that Spring is almost here but I cannot complain! I’m ready for all things bright and fun and so is Burt’s Bees. With their new collection called güd, they want to get us ready for spring with great looking hair and smooth skin. From body mists to shampoo, the collection comes in four fun scents – Floral Cherrynova, Orange Petalooza, Vanilla Flame and Pearanormal Activity ( love those names!) packaged in fun, floral designs. This brand takes its name to heart – using nothing but good for you ingredients and leaving out those icky parabens, phthalates, and petrochemicals. They also do not test on animals (which gets extra points from me!)
I’ve been reviewing a few of these new products and they definitely are as fun as they sound!
My favorite product out of the bunch, this hand cream has an amazing fragrance that’s bold and fun! I definitely found myself sniffing my hands a few times. I also love how moisturizing it is. At my day job my hands can take a beating between dealing with papers and constant blast of the AC. By mid day they are screaming for some lotion and this hand cream left my hands so soft and moisturized without being crazy greasy all day. This one is definitely a keeper!
With a soft, fresh scent of Vanilla and Rice Milk, this conditioner did exactly what it said! After using it both with my regular shampoo and alone for my mid-week wash, I found that my hair was soft and manageable in and out of the shower. I had to use quite a bit of it though when detangling my hair. The conditioner was great, but I discovered a little trick that made this product awesome – adding a few drops of honey to it. OMG, not only was my curls soft, but it helped to keep it really moisturized long afterwards!
Out of the three, I adored the packaging of this one (I’m a sucker for pink!). Unlike the other scents that were new and exciting to me, this one smelled very familiar, reminding me of the various Cherry Blossom perfumes and mists I’ve had in the past. As for getting my hands clean, it definitely did the job even when it came to washing the makeup off.
Natural Body Lotion in Pearpalooza (8oz for $7.00)
This one was my least favorite, though I really wanted to like it because the scent alone was fruity yet refreshing. For a few weeks I replaced my regular one with this one and found it was no match for my really dry skin. I wished it was as moisturizing (and as thick) as the hand cream.
