Get Dressed up For the Holidays with Madison Plus

Even though you might still be on turkey overload from last week, the holidays are around the corner. That means getting your holiday shopping  finished (or started, like me! :)) and getting glammed up for the holiday festivities!  I like any excuse to get dressed up  and since coming out of my strictly tonboy phase in life, I can really appreciate a great dress.  You know that one that hugs in just the right places, comes in a super flattering color, and highlights all of your positives.  Fashion designers have made headway when it comes to dressing curvy girls, but they have a long way to go.  When I did Plus Fashion Designer Spotlights last year, I discovered quite a few brands that cater especially to girls like me and wouldn’t it be nice to have them all in one convenient place?

They do and that site is called Madison Plus.  This curvy girl online shopping mall has a huge selection of clothes from tops and jeans to blouses and dresses that are perfect for a night out.  They also carry the brands that we know and love, like Not my Daughter’s Jeans, Igigi, Avenue, Micheal Michael Kors, and Lane Bryant – all in one place, broken down by categories that make shopping super easy.  Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, one click will take you straight to that retailers site.  Easy, peazy!

So, how does their holiday collection measure up?  The folks at Madison Plus gave me the opportunity to style two of their season picks.

I fell in love with their dresses since I learned about them last year and having the chance to put one on, I’m borderline obsessed! Because the super soft material has a good amount of stretch, it hugs my hips right where they need to, while draping beautifully in the front.  The heart neckline is super sexy without having my “girls” spilling out of them.  I wore the jeweled necklace  and chandelier earrings to give the outfit a bling factor without looking overdone.  The length is perfect for me, very age appropriate for this just-turned-30 girl!  The beaded belt definitely took the dress up a notch, with gorgeous detail that make it holiday ready.  To keep the glitter party going, I wore my black, sparkly pumps and I was good to go!

Velour Dress by Anna Scholz

Anna Scholz is a new brand to me and I must say, I was very pleased for this dress.  The velour material is beautiful and perfect for the Winter Season.  The dress keeps you very warm which is a plus if you live in a place with a colder climate (I live in down South so this wouldn’t work for down here!).  When I put it on, I immediately got a vintage glam kind of vibe from it.  It could be from the embroidered trim on the side of it, that totally makes the dress for me!  So I went for my black flower clip, dark tights, pearl accessories, and (once again!) my glitter pumps.  The dress wraps around my waist very nicely, though if you have a tummy, you  may want to wear a girdle underneath.

This past year I built up my dress wardrobe too and believe it or not, I wore more dresses when I lived in NYC than here. I guess I had more places to go to that required getting really dressed up! LOL.

I love them, especially the red one. The black one would only work if I was in NYC. The material is way too thick for FLA weather
