It’s almost Christmas! It’s almost Christmas!!
This holiday always brings out the kid in me and though this year is rather low key for me, I’m still giddy on Christmas Eve! In the holiday spirit, this Friend Friday is all about Christmas and our Christmas traditions.
Your favorite Christmas memory:
My absolute favorite Christmas memory was when I was a little kid, maybe about five or six years old. My parents, grandparents, and my aunt all spent the night in my grandparents house in NY Christmas Eve. Christmas morning next to the empty plate where I left cookies for Santa was a letter from “Santa” himself. I was so excited and bragged to all of my friends that Santa left me a cool letter. Of course when I got older, my mom got a friend of hers to write the letter for her so I wouldn’t recognize the handwriting. But that was still a cool memory and appreciated the joy that letter gave me none the less!
Were you ever a victim of those family Christmas party photo shoots? What do you think about them now? Care to share an old photo?
Thank goodness we never had those formal family photo sessions that were ultra cheesy. But we always took pictures of everyone opening their presents, sitting down to the traditional Christmas dinner, or just all of us dolled up to go to a holiday party. I always enjoyed those pictures because they were totally natural and you could tell everyone was having a good time.
Best Christmas gift you ever gave:
Wow that’s a hard one! The only one I can think of off top was the gift I gave my husband last year. Being that we were saving up for our wedding, we agreed we weren’t going to exchange gifts. But at the last minute I wanted to get him a little something, because it was our first Christmas living together. So I went ahead and got him what he was raving about for weeks – a bean bag chair! LOL. He was excited about that chair and now he plays his video games in pure comfort on that chair!
Craziest/funniest holiday family tradition:
A tradition that my siblings and I do on Christmas day is wear our red Santa Hats all day. I don’t know how that even came about but it’s something fun to do!
Favorite type of Christmas cookie:
When I was a kid I would always make chocolate chip cookies with walnuts. The mere smell of them cooking in the oven always made me smile!
I hope you all have an awesome Christmas weekend! Hope you Santa’s good to yah! J
