We can all agree that finding that right pair of jeans can be a super pain in the butt! From the infamous booty crack to ghastly muffin top, jean shopping can turn into a nightmare! So for this Plus Size Fashion Spotlight, I’m featuring Beija Flor, a jean company that designs for us ladies with booties, hips, and thighs. Their jeans feature lightweight Brazilian stretch denim, designed not to stretch out regardless of how many times they’re worn. They also have what’s called a vertical illusion wash, with darker shades on the outsides and lighter shades around the mid-thighs for a slimming effect. Offering sizes up to 16, their jeans have been featured in mags such as Weight Watchers, , and Good Housekeeping.
Added bonus! Here are four great tips from the folks over at Beija Flor when it comes to finding the right pair of jeans!
You want your pockets to be sized, angled, and placed to flatter your rear whether you need to minimize lift or just break up the landscape
Don’t think that because you’re curvy you can’t wear jeggings or skinny leg jeans. A pant that hugs and fits your curves always looks better than a pant that is sagging or gaping.
Research brands that grade their jeans to look good in larger sizes, support local specialty stores who have fit experts to help you find the right style
Tailoring and design
Most designer jeans will require hemming. Find a professional tailor to do a jeans hem. Look for darker washes or if it’s a lighter wash look for wash effects with darker edges and lighter middle to slim the thigh.
